I decided to make my hypertext narrative an exploration in meditation. I'm not really someone who meditates a lot, but I took a class on it for a semester and a lot of the things stuck with me. I wanted to write an experience that could exude the same energy that meditation does, relaxing and soothing. There are 10 pages, from start to finish, that explores different modes of meditation as long as experiences where you can sort of choose your own adventure. Here is a list of my 10 pages:
I used otter.ai to transcribe many guided meditation videos that I played out loud. This allowed me to easily gather a database of speech and language commonly used in a guided meditation that I could use to manipulate using any of the language generators.
The barcode on the front index page is text in a barcode font. The text reads "Dominate It Mat Edition Meant Idiot Omit Detain India Totem", some of the better anagrams of meditation.
I copied some of my transcribed text into the charNG generator. I used the output as a basis for the text on eyes.html, both for content and also structure
consider different fading systems - this one was kind of on the nose but this inspired me to do hover fades for links
take a break - i took a break after seeing this because i realized i was working on this for a long time without eating dinner
emphasize repetitions - on neck.html, i used a lot of repetitions
I used bjorks text generator to gather some good vocabulary for my page about tinitus. Words like "crystalline" "darkness" "encompass" and "haunted"
I used the n+7 generator to inspire the text for my birds page. I wrote an original version of the birds text, ran it through the generator, and picked and chose other nouns to add to the text.
I took a lot of different meditation scripts and plugged them into the markov generator. I then took that text to inspire the writing on the ending page of my website
